| SIGNIFICANCE: | My Superbike is a tribute to the Ducati tuners and racers of the time. Red, gold and black carbon. The usual suspect tuner parts responsible for DucatiÕs dominance are tastefully showcased in this Superbike; Ducati Performance/Brembo/Marchesini/Termignoni/Ohlins/Casoli Moto/Fast by Ferraci/Michelin. She purrs along the Chicago lakeshore just fine and looks beautiful doing it. Most important to me though, this beauty is no trailer queen. She lives and breathes on the racetrack, as she was passionately created to. The Casoli (England) tuned suspension is blissfully in concert with my, smooth, reliable, unadulterated 916 Desmoquattro. Pipes and a chip is all she needed to walk the talk. She is track legal and ready as she sits, but another set of skin waits for my lapse in judgment; when we decide to get busy and make use my neglected CCS racing license in the top drawer of the toolbox. Would I run this beauty through the espresso grinder that is club racing (like my old 900SS)? Let's hope I win the 1098 so we donÕt find out. "Mi piace la pasta," so the extra displacement is a welcome match for my "extra displacement" and need for extra horsepower. This is the bike I dreamed of. |
