SIGNIFICANCE:I feel this bike is worthy of this contest due to it being my very first attempt at anything like this. I have been around motorcycles since I was 4 years old but I have never been involved with anything like this. I chose the Ducati 916 as the base for my very first "resto-mod." I also find that my finished Ducati 916 looks similar in appeal to the 1098!

This bike was purchased by myself from the second owner who lived in Ohio. He placed about seven thousand miles on the bike and took very good card of the bike. The previous owner before him was the bikes original owner who bought the bike new from a Dealer in Philadelphia, PA. He had placed about nine thousand miles on the bike.

Before I set out to look for a 916 style Ducati, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with one as this would be my first attempt at a "resto-mod." Once I took delivery of the bike I rode it for one summer season then, in November 2005, I started to disassemble it... By the end of April 2006 it was done. The bike came fully apart with the motor out of the frame. The motor was taken to Duc Pond Moto sports for a general look through and service. It was given a clean bill of health and a new set of belts.

I have ridden her since with no issue and have about 3000 miles on it since the work. She is my baby!
